Points of Unity
Our work is to build interdependent communities that are empowered to care for each other independent of oppressive institutions.
Our Political Values
Principles for Our Work in the Community
Our Political Values
- We aim to uproot the oppressive system of racial capitalism and build a world where resources are fairly distributed and everyone is allowed to thrive.
- We support the liberation of all colonized people, women, LGBTQ people, disabled people, and the working class.
- We support the abolition of the police, the prison industrial complex, and the practice of responding to harm with punishment.
- We are anti-imperialist and stand in solidarity with colonized and oppressed peoples worldwide.
Principles for Our Work in the Community
- We are horizontally organized and strive to empower every member of our community to be leaders.
- We center the needs and voices of those most impacted by oppression while recognizing we are all victims of the white supremacist, capitalist structures that surround us.
- We value lived experience and understand that formal education does not equate to knowledge, ability, or skill.
- We make decisions to collaborate with other organizations based on what would be most beneficial to our community and our long-term political strategy.
- We value sustainability in our work. We take time to do things and make decisions with care, even if it takes us longer. We aim to make meaningful, long term change that addresses the root cause of issues rather than provide band-aid solutions.
- We strive to work in ways that stimulate, energize, and empower us. We understand that there are many roles in social change, that we deserve to enjoy our work, and that our capacity is increased when we do.
- We value collectivism and work to increase our capacity for collective care.
